Ylang Ylang Gamble
Ylang Ylang has been the subject of a significant gamble for the Oaks according to bookie BoyleSports who have slashed her odds into 6/4 from 9/4 for Friday’s feature.
A fast finishing fifth in the 1,000 Guineas earlier this month, the Frankel filly shaped as if a step up to a mile-and-a-half could see her at her best and punters have given her a confident vote to score a first Classic for Coolmore this year.
Treasure Fancied
The Royal runner, Treasure, who runs in the silks of The King & The Queen, had been heavily backed in recent days, from a high of 33/1 into 12/1, but punters have gone cold on her chances as she’s drifted out to 18/1.
She is one four runners for Ralph Beckett, who also fields Lingfield Trial winner, You Got Me (14/1), outsider Seaward (40/1) and the well-fancied Forest Fairy who is the shortest priced runner for the home team at 7/1.
Other Contenders
Dermot Weld relies on recent Leopardstown scorer Ezeliya (5/1) for a first win in the race since 1981, while County Meath trainer Noel Meade will be represented by Caught U Looking, who has been backed each-way from 40/1 into 20/1.
Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said:
“British trained horses have won the first four Classics in Ireland and the UK this year, but punters are confident that run is about to end. Ylang Ylang will be a significant liability for us if she comes home in front and Caught U Looking could also prove costly if she nabs a place.”
