This competition has proved the exception, however. From four League Cup meetings since 1969, there have been three Chelsea wins and a draw. Leeds United also arrive without a win in their last nine visits to Stamford Bridge, stretching back to a 2-0 success in December 1999.
The last of those trips offered plenty of encouragement, though. The Whites went 2-0 down inside an hour in February and still came away with a point. Lukas Nmecha converted from the spot on 67 minutes, Noah Okafor levelled six minutes later, and Farke's side walked out of west London with a 2-2 draw against all odds.
The most recent meeting was another tightly contested affair when an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley in April was settled by an Enzo Fernández strike on 23 minutes.

Xabi Alonso's side won 3-2 at Fulham on the opening weekend, then edged a remarkable 4-3 thriller against Brighton at Stamford Bridge.
Sunday brought their first defeat which came at the hands of the Gunners. Morgan Rogers put them ahead at the Emirates after two minutes, but Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard turned it around for an Arsenal side which looks set to challenge for the Premier League title again this season.
We can expect that rotation is coming for this League Cup tie. Alonso made wholesale changes for the second-round tie with Luton and still won 2-0, with Danny Welbeck heading in on 50 minutes before a Hakeem Odoffin own goal settled it.
Moisés Caicedo and Levi Colwill are both carrying fitness concerns, with Jordan Henderson still out.
