Arsenal should continue their flying start and add to the mounting problems facing Aston Villa when the two clubs clash at Villa Park on Monday night. Mikel Arteta’s men head to the midlands on the back of successive 3-0 wins, beating Manchester City in the Community Shield before brushing aside Coventry in the opening match of their Premier League title defence.
Villa, in contrast, have suffered back-to-back defeats. They were edged out by Paris St Germain in the UEFA Super Cup before being thrashed 4-0 at Brighton in the league.
Perhaps of more concern for Villa fans though is seeing a squad that finished fourth and won the Europa League being ripped apart, with Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Lucas Digne and Ezri Konsa already gone and others looking set to follow.
Villa beat Arsenal 2-1 in this corresponding fixture last season thanks to a last-gasp Emi Buendia goal but we think it will be the visitors celebrating this time. Our prediction is an away win with over 2.5 goals in total @ 11/8. We also like the look of Arsenal winning both halves for third game running, at odds of 10/3.

Form Guides
Aston Villa form guide
Everything looked rosy for Villa only a few months ago, basking in a first European trophy in 44 years as well as claiming a top-four Premier League finish for the second time in three seasons. However, with many of the key players from that team either having left or currently being linked with moves away, these are troubling times for the club.
Unai Emery will be especially concerned at how they capitulated at the Amex, where Brighton scored four times inside 31 minutes before Villa saw new signing Joao Gomes sent off to cap a truly horrendous first half.
Emery will be demanding a response against his former employers, and an 11-game winning streak at Villa Park last season - including that victory over Arsenal – should give some cause for Villa optimism.
A home win is 9/2, but that looks unlikely in the current climate so we’re going for BTTS and over 2.5 goals in total @ 7/5.
Arsenal form guide
Arsenal haven't rested on their laurels since winning their first Premier League title since 2004 and reaching the Champions League final. Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis and former Villa favourite Konsa have strengthened an already formidable squad while there could be more additions to come.
On the pitch things could hardly have gone better, with City blown away at the Millennium Stadium with three goals in the opening 48 minutes from Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal then dispatched promoted Coventry in similar fashion last Friday as goals from Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Odegaard saw the outcome settled just after half-time. The Gunners should feel confident of adding Villa's scalp to that list too, having won on three of four trips to Villa Park prior to last season's setback, while they also beat Emery's side 4-1 at home in December.
Havertz did not score in either game against Villa last term but he has started the new season with a bang and is 7/5 to notch for the third successive game, while Odegaard is 10/3 to do likewise.
