Brighton’s credentials as potential Premier League title challengers and trophy winners will be put to the test over the next eight days as they play three huge matches, starting with a trip to Liverpool. The Seagulls are third in the league and progressing well in the Carabao Cup and Conference League on the back of a stunning start to the campaign, winning eight of 12 matches while losing just once.
They have already beaten champions Arsenal at home and Manchester United away, as well as thrashing bitter rivals Crystal Palace 5-0, but now face what is sure to be one of their toughest runs of the season. On Sunday they go to Anfield, where they have won just once in their last 13 visits, before facing back-to-back away matches at Premier League leaders Manchester City, first in the Carabao Cup fourth round and then in the league.
Liverpool, meanwhile, look to be building momentum under new boss Andoni Iraola and go into the weekend having won five of their last six fixtures. With both teams in good touch, and scoring lots of goals, we’re going for a draw with over 2.5 goals @ 7/1.

Form Guides
Liverpool Form Guide
The Reds had a shaky start under Iraola, requiring late equalisers to salvage 2-2 draws in their opening two matches against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, but things are looking much brighter now. Despite being hit by injuries, Liverpool have won seven of their last nine matches, with their only defeat coming against Manchester City when Ryan Gravenberch’s second-half red card proved the turning point.
Since that 3-0 Anfield humbling, Iraola’s troops have beaten LASK 6-3 and Villarreal 4-3 in the Champions League either side of a 2-1 league win at Brentford. It has not always been comfortable, and Iraola has plenty of issues still to fix, but results are at least going Liverpool’s way.
An ability to share the goals around has helped hugely, especially with Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai both injured, and so far the Reds have seen 10 different players get on the scoresheet. Defender Ronald Araujo is 8/1 to score a third goal in four games this weekend, while Alexis Mac Allister is 4/1 to follow up his midweek brace with another goal against his former club.
Florian Wirtz, fresh from scoring his first goal of the season against Villarreal, is Evens to have a shot on target, something we think will happen in what promises to be a game full of chances.
Brighton Form Guide
Brighton extended their winning streak to six with last weekend’s derby drubbing of Palace, scoring three times in the opening 10 minutes against the shellshocked Eagles. A much-changed Brighton side were then held 0-0 by Czech side Jablonec in the Conference League on Thursday, ending that run in what was Fabian Hurzeler’s 100th game in charge, but a fifth straight clean sheet made it a decent result amid the potential distraction of bigger tests to come.
And they don’t come much bigger than a trip to Anfield, where Brighton have lost on each of their last four visits. There hasn’t been a goalless draw between these two clubs since the 1960s and we cannot see that changing on Sunday.
Brighton top the Premier League scoring charts with 23 goals – more than twice as many as Liverpool – and they have also had 14 more shots on goal than any other club. You can get 10/1 for a 2-2 draw this weekend, while we also like the look of Brighton to be leading at half-time @ 13/5.
