A football virtuoso pulled off a stunning bet at the weekend to land a five-figure windfall just two weeks short of Christmas.
The anonymous punter placed a series of bets via their online BoyleSports account which included 15 selections across the Irish League and English non-league. They plumped for a €2.25 accumulator and also a cluster of €0.05 12-team accumulators taking their total stake to €25.
All selections required at least either three or four goals to be scored in the matches but a goal spree, including a 7-0 win for Taunton and a 3-3 draw between Needham Market and Banbury sent the incredible bet on route to a mega payout.
One match however looked destined to scupper the bet, with St. Ives 1-0 down to Bedworth heading into injury time. But St. Ives produced a remarkable comeback to score twice in stoppage time and in doing so landed the customer a remarkable total of €17,896.36.
