Corn Cuchulainn Preview

Trap 1

Priceless On Ice – 10/1

Paul Hennessy ’s second string, Priceless On Ice , has the ideal draw on the fence in trap one .

She finished runner-up to Singalong Polly in her semi-final and, from the red box, will be doing all she can to get first run to the opening bend.

Each-way claims from a rails draw.

Trap 2

Lennies Desire – 4/5

The clear favourite is the Paul Hennessy -trained son of Signet Ace and Free From Desire , owned by Lee Craze .

He has taken his six-bend record to six wins from eight starts, posting 41.01 in the opening round before a brilliant 41.09 in his semi-final, leading off the second bend. The Towcester 500m track record holder bids to land a third Classic in three weeks for the Hennessy kennel after Lennies Eddie ’s English Derby and Lennies Ash ’s Oaks .

The one they all have to beat, and hard to oppose on this form.

Trap 3

Singalong Polly – 4/1

Pat Buckley ’s Singalong Polly was a most impressive all-the-way winner of the second semi-final in 41.20.

Slick into stride, she dictated from the front throughout and looks sure to go forward again here if able to hold that early lead.

The pick of the chasing pack and a genuine threat to the favourite.

Trap 4

Highview Air – 25/1

The rank outsider at 25/1, Highview Air stayed on into third in the second semi-final.

Very lightly raced over 750 yards, she remains open to plenty of improvement and could outrun her odds if the leaders overdo it up front.

The forgotten one of the six.

Trap 5

Glengar Silent – 11/2

Another runner for Pat Buckley , the Irish Derby finalist Glengar Silent, stayed on into third behind Lennies Desire in the strong first semi-final.

Still lightly raced over six bends following an eye-catching debut at the trip, he looks the type to keep progressing.

Could prove the value in the field if building on that run.

Trap 6

Ballymac Chantry – 4/1

The Liam Dowling -trained Ballymac Chantry , a litter sister to Grouchos Gregor , is drawn widest of all in the stripes of trap six .

She chased Lennies Desire home in the first semi-final, beaten three and a half lengths into second , and remains open to further improvement over the trip.

That sole wide draw may suit her galloping style, and she commands plenty of respect.
