First Law was a Listed winner at Haydock last time out on heavy going, which probably did not suit him given he handled fast ground so well on his Sandown debut. Having cost one million guineas, it is only natural that connections will harbour Classic dreams ahead of this step up in class.

Aidan O’Brien’s ace has already done us a couple of favours this term and is taken to continue her remarkable winning sequence by adding another Group One to her tally in a stellar renewal of the Tattersalls Sceptre Sessions Cheveley Park Stakes.
There are three top-class fillies at the head of the betting; Senorita Bonita, Libertango and our selection, who will all have their supporters and for good reason. Libertango’s sole defeat came at the hands of Senorita Bonita in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes over the July course here and George Boughey’s charge has since bounced back by winning the Lowther at York.
Senorita Bonita’s only reverse came when second of 27 at Royal Ascot in the Queen Mary and she bolted up in Deauville’s Prix Morny last month. However, Sun Goddess has taken her form to a new level since her Albany Stakes Ascot defeat at the hands of Libertango, after which she was a Group Two winner within a week.
It was her defeat of subsequent Group One-winning colt Folsom Blues in the Phoenix Stakes which marked her out as something special, while she has won a sales race at York and the Moyglare Stud Stakes by a wide margin since then, so is simply on a roll.

Clive Cox’s colt looked right out of the top drawer when winning at Royal Ascot in June and can remind everyone of his talent in the Group One Tattersalls Middle Park Stakes . The son of Havana Grey has only been seen once since he blitzed the Norfolk Stakes field in scoring by three and a half lengths.
It is fair to question the form of that victory, but the third did win a Listed race at Ayr last week and Orthodox’s subsequent defeat in the Prix Morny behind Senorita Bonita can be explained away by the soft ground. Back on a much firmer surface on the Rowley Mile, he is given one more chance.

Ed Dunlop could do with landing the £200,000 Cambridgeshire after a relatively quiet couple of seasons. Pathein is one of his better performers now with a rating of 102 and really caught the eye last time out at Doncaster when unable to get a clear passage behind Thunder Run , so with William Buick booked, a big run is expected.
