Ahead of this week's PGA Championship,  Billy Foster, questions the media presence of the LIV tour

Billy Foster is no stranger to the world of golf having been a caddy for 40 years.

He has caddied for the likes of the late great Seve Ballesteros, serial winner Lee Westwood, a certain Tiger Woods and one of the most consistent golfers on tour now Matt Fitzpatrick.

You would spend a lot of time searching for a caddy over the decades and a variety of experiences in coaching such star power.

‘The LIV tour is non-existent in the U.S.’

It’s almost like out here on the PGA Tour, LIV doesn’t exist. It doesn’t get reported anywhere, it's not on the Golf Channel. Unless you are searching for it you never see anything about it. It’s almost like a secret service to keep it quiet. But I have got a few good mates on LIV and they say it’s incredible and absolutely brilliant. They are loving it.

The atmosphere, the vibe, the shotgun starts, everyone out at the same time. Free beer, free hotels, free flights, it’s great money whether you played good or bad. I mean what's not to like about it as a caddie?! You are working less and getting paid more.

‘Garcia, Poulter and Westwood Ryder Cup exile is sad’

Something needs to be worked out.  For me personally for what’s just happened – to Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter - I think it is incredibly sad. You can understand both opinions, I am not saying they should or they shouldn’t.

I think it's an absolute travesty that those players, two of whom I caddied for, are not going to be Ryder Cup captains. I think that's incredibly sad for what they've done for the European tour and for what they've done over the years.

I know people say they had a choice, they made their bed and they have to lie in it but they are in their late 40s and they’ve been offered an easier life for more money and less tournaments.  You can't blame them but they’ve still got a lot to give for the European Tour. So I think it's incredibly sad.

I’ve been in communication with Lee last week. That will stay private but basically what I’ve just said. It is very sad it’s come to this. It’s wrong but that’s my opinion.  I totally get the other side of the opinion. I get it. But for me personally, for having grown up for 20-30 years, with these lads and seeing what they've done, to see it come to this is incredibly sad.”

‘Player fall-outs are just not true

I don’t think that’s the case at all. When you see Dustin Johnson at the Masters and everyone giving him a big hug and saying ‘Hi DJ, missing you.’ There's no animosity.
