A Lotto punter is County Cork is thanking their lucky stars this weekend after incredibly smashing odds of 40,000/1 with a simple €0.50 bet.
The customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, placed the tiny bet at mega odds in a BoyleSports shop in the county on Saturday and needed all five of their selections to land in the Lotto Plus 2 draw on Saturday evening.
The odds began to tumble however as the numbers rolled out, and when 3, 6, 11, 19 and 21 all dropped, the bet landed and triggered a mammoth payout of €20,000.05.
