Rose of Tralee Betting Tips
Kerry Rose Emer Dineen Fancied For Success
There could be cause for local celebrations in County Kerry this month as Kingdom representative Emer Dineen is the early 7/2 second favourite with BoyleSports to be crowned winner at the Rose of Tralee festival.
It has been 60 years since Tralee Rose Margaret O’Keeffe scored a local victory in the annual event. But the 23-year-old Kerry Rose will be heading to the Dome next week with an impressive resumé, which includes qualifying from University College Dublin as a Radiographer and experience as a lifeguard in her home village of Castlegregory and nearby Ballyheigue. She now works as a Paediatric Radiographer at Dublin’s Temple Street Hospital and is learning Irish Sign Language to enhance her communication skills.
Galway Rose Aims To Break County’s Drought
A home win would mean Galway’s wait for a Rose of Tralee victory would go on, a drought which dates back to three years before their last All-Ireland Senior Football title. Social worker Deirdre Jennings, who enjoys attending art classes, will have to overcome odds of 20/1 to brush aside the opposition and go one better than the county’s footballers this year.
Casey Harris To Fly The Flag For Dublin
Dublin also hit a bum note with an earlier exit in the race for Sam, but 24-year-old singer Casey Harris may be playing to a different tune when she takes to the dome, and she is a 20/1 shot to become the first Rose of Tralee winner representing the capital since 2003.
Derry & Sligo Roses Backed In Early Rose of Tralee Betting
Some early support from the north means Derry’s Darcy Taylor is favourite at 5/2 from 20/1. At the same time, Sligo Rose Megan McCormack, a substitute primary school teacher with a passion for Gaelic football, is also being given a strong chance as the 7/1 third favourite.
With Irish dancers, singers and even a bagpiper in contention, host Dáithí Ó’Sé is sure to be presented with an array of party tricks from this year’s contestants, which may include some fancy footwork from 12/1 Donegal Rose Niamh Shevlin, one half of world champion Irish dancing duo the Shevlin twins.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said:
“Kerry Rose Emer Dineen has experience as a lifeguard and punters have clearly been on the lookout for eye-catching CVs. She is a popular early pick, but with the prospect of bagpipes and Irish dancers on stage, judges will have an array of talent to tap into.”
