The 2023 USPGA Championship is taking place from May 18-21 at Oak Hill Country Club, Pittsford New York. This will be the 105th edition of the event since the first one was held in October 1916 the winner then received $500 and a diamond-studded gold medal donated by Rodman Wanamaker but today the winner will fight it out for a prize pot of $15,000,000.
Masters Champion Jon Rahm is joint 7/1 favourite for the second major championship of the season alongside Scottie Scheffler, who is hoping to continue a hot run of American winners of the event dating back to 2016.
World number 3 McIlroy has been eased to 11/1 from 9/1 with BoyleSports after he finished a disappointing T-47th at the Wells Fargo Championship earlier his month, his only outing since missing the cut at The Masters.
Shane Lowry has also failed to feature in two appearances since finishing T-16th at Augusta, finishing well down the field at RBC Heritage and missing the cut at the Wells Fargo. The Offaly man is now 66/1 to add to his Open Championship victory in 2019 despite having been a 33/1 shot following his solid performance at The Masters.
Waterford’s Seamus Power however has been clipped into 150/1 from 175/1 for a major breakthrough after he hit four rounds in the 60s at the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship in Texas last week. His final round of 64 on Sunday saw him post his second consecutive top-20 finish on the PGA Tour after he finished T-18th at the Wells Fargo a week previous.
Padraig Harrington has also been backed down to 20/1 from 25/1 to finish in the top ten at the PGA Championship after he finished T-5th in his bid for a second Senior’s major title last week.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry don’t have much recent form to go on, but some positive signs of late for Seamus Power has caught the eye of each-way punters and Padraig Harrington’s Seniors form hasn’t gone unnoticed either.”
The World Number 1 is the joint favourite in the market for the 2023 USPGA Championship following his 2023 Masters victory last month. Rahm's best finish at the event was a T4 finish in 2018 and he has only two Top-10 appearances at this event from six starts.
The Spaniard comes into this competition in strong form as well as his Masters victory he has four victories from his twelve events this season with a strike rate of 33%.

The World Number Two and 2022 Masters Champion is a joint favourite for this year’s tournament. The 2022 PGA Tour Player of the Year has continued his strong vein of form into the 2023 season. From his first 13 starts, he has placed 12 times in the top 25, 9 times in the top 10, 1 third and 2 wins.
Scheffler's most recent victory came in the acclaimed “fifth major” the Players Championship He has made two appearances at this event with his best finish being a T8 in 2021 his first appearance at the event.
Scottie Scheffler is 7/1 to win the USPGA Championship in only his third appearance at the event.
Rory McIlroy - USPGA Championship Third Favourite
The World Number 3 is the joint-favourite in the market for the 2023 USPGA Championship which has always been a good tournament for Rory. The Northern Irishman won the event in 2012 and 2014 while coming 8th in it last year.
From the Northern Irishman's first 8 starts in 2023, he has one win and one 2nd place finish. Last time out he came T47 at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Brooks Koepka - USPGA Championship Fourth Favourite
Koepka has one victory in 2023 coming in LIV Golf Orlando where he had a score of -15 under to win the competition. Aside from the victory he came closest coming second in Adelaide with a score of -12 under last month as well as coming T2 on -8 under in The Masters earlier in that month.
Koepka is a four-time major winner winning the PGA Championship in 2018 and 2019 along with the U.S. Open in 2017 and 2018. If Koepka was to win this event, he would become a five-time major winner meaning he’d go joint fifteenth for most major titles in the golfing history books.
Koepka is 18/1 to land the PGA Championship for the third time.
