SAUDIAN ARABIA GP BETTING – THE CONTENDERS
MAX VERSTAPPEN 4/9
The Red Bull driver is the red-hot favourite going into this race and it's easy to see why. The 2021 and 2022 Drivers Champion has started the 2023 season where he left off by winning the opening race of the season at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
In last year’s edition of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Verstappen was the winner in a time of 1:24:19.293 coming +0.549 seconds ahead of second-placed Charles Leclerc and in 2021 Verstappen came second place to Lewis Hamilton.
Verstappen is 4/9 to win his second Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in a row at the weekend.
SERGIO PEREZ 5/1
The man who is predicted to come closest to Verstappen is Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez who last time out in the Bahrain Grand Prix was second to his teammate. Perez has a decent record in previous editions of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix having earned poll position in 2022 to eventually finish fourth.
In advance of the second race of the season Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has urged Sergio Perez to unlock his 'A-game' if he is to compete with Max Verstappen this season. Sergio Perez is 5/1 to win at the weekend.
Fernando Alonso 7/1
The oldest F1 Driver on the grid at 41 years of age and the 2005 and 2006 Drivers Championship winner has proven he can still be competitive. The Aston Martin driver came third in the opening race of the season at Bahrain and will be hoping to be competitive again at the weekend.
With the driver hinting at retirement, saying his current contract may be his last, it would be great if he could win a few races before retiring and heading off into the sunset! Alonso is 7/1 to win the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Carlos Sainz Jr. 14/1
The newly married man placed fourth at the opening weekend of the season and is also currently the fourth favourite to win Sunday. The Ferrari Driver came third in the race last season only being beaten by teammate Charles Leclerc and winner Max Verstappen.
After the opening weekend of the season, he stated “We need to focus on improving for the upcoming races”. Carlos is currently 14/1 to improve enough to win on Sunday in Saudi Arabia!
Charles Leclerc 18/1
Fourth favourite for the race is Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who came second in this race in 2021 and 2022 to Lewis Hamilton and Max Vertstappan respectfully. However, he will have his work cut out for him as Ferrari as he will be hit with a grid penalty for Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after his Ferrari team were forced to fit another control electronics power unit component, which in turn triggers a grid penalty.
This means he will have a ten-placed grid drop for Sunday. Leclerc is 18/1 to win the Saudi Arabia GP.
