A competitive-looking fillies maiden. FAIRYLIKE shaped nicely on her Cork debut behind a better-fancied stablemate and is taken to reverse form with the more experienced Serendipia over this stiffer track. Sunatia, Saxony Charms and Socratea all hold claims, Mawhiba faces better opposition then of late so needs to improve. [Alan Hewison] Show less
Spotlight: Lord Kanaloa filly; dam 1m 2yo/1m6f Group 3 winner (RPR 109), sister to winners, including Capri (Irish Derby/St Leger), Tower Of London (1m6f/2m Group 2) and Cypress Creek (2m Group 3); promising debut last month when fourth to short-priced stablemate Garden Party (2l off third-placed Serendipia) in Cork fillies' maiden over this trip; seems sure to improve for that and stiffer 1m2f should suit; good chance of reversing that form with Serendipia.
Spotlight: All three runs in 1m2f Curragh maidens, showing useful level of form each time, most recently hampered when a staying on fifth (beaten 2l) last month in first-time cheekpieces (now replaced by blinkers); one to consider.
Spotlight: Well-bred filly (dam a Group 1 winner) produced her best run yet on fifth start when a staying on third (debutante Fairylike fourth) in Cork fillies maiden over slightly further; big player again although not guaranteed to uphold that form with Fairylike.
Spotlight: Night Of Thunder filly ignored in the market on both runs, much improved on second occasion when second of 7 over 1m1f at the Curragh, having forced the pace (winner subsequently won a Listed race); that may not have been the strongest maiden, this looks to have more depth to it.
Spotlight: Steady improvement in three runs in fillies' maidens, notably quite modest contests at Limerick and when rallying second over 1m4f at Tramore; sure to be thereabouts again but others may have more improvement in them.
Spotlight: Promise in maidens last year and in first two runs this term at Leopardstown on soft; first-time blinkers did no harm at Galway on latest when fair fourth over extended 1m; return to 1m2f may suit but form seems to have plateaued and vulnerable.
Spotlight: Camelot half-sister to 7f 2yo winner Promo Queen (RPR 72); dam 1m/1m2f AW winner (RPR 73), half-sister to winners and from the family of Arc winner Sakhee; stayed on late to finish modest third on debut in 1m4f Killarney fillies' maiden in July; improvement likely.
Spotlight: Eye-catching debut at Naas in June when a staying on seventh of 19 over 1m; step up in trip should suit and not one to rule out.
Spotlight: Okay efforts in 1m maidens earlier in the season; step up in trip will need to bring improvement to feature though.
Spotlight: Ran well in two strong maidens at Naas over 1m and took another step forward upped in trip when rallying to regain second at Down Royal (10.5f, good) in July; weakened quickly however in first-time blinkers at Cork last time and they're now replaced by a tongue-tie; place claims.
Spotlight: Lope De Vega filly a 100,000euros foal; second foal; half-sister to 1m4f winner Ledecky (RPR 86); dam 1m AW winner (Group-placed 1m4f; 99); ran okay on last month's Naas debut (1m), keeping on late when beaten 6l; longer trip here could bring improvement.
Spotlight: Half-sister to five winners inc Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck and Bounding (NZ/Australian 4.4f-7f inc 2yo/Group 1; 112); dam Australian 5.5f 2yo Group 3 winner; dropped out before home turn on Limerick debut back in April; given plenty of time off since and reappears in a first-time tongue-tie.
Spotlight: Caravaggio filly cost 35,000USD as a foal and 62,000euros as a yearling; closely related to US 1m2f dirt winner Peak Popularity, half-sister to winners Imperial Creed (US 1m-11m1f dirt/AW), Probability (US 1m/8.5f dirt) and Maestranza (Peruvian 6.5f); dam unraced; market best guide on debut.
Spotlight: Three-time winner over hurdles; creditable second on Flat debut at Ballinrobe, though well held since on softer ground in a stronger Galway fillies maiden; back in trip here.
Spotlight: Kodi Bear filly cost 20,000euros as a yearling; half-sister to seven winners inc Albishr (7f 2yo; RPR 101), Happy Odyssey (6.5f Listed/6f 2yo; 98) and Remarkable Lady (1m-1m4f; 96); dam maiden (61) half-sister to Carioca (1m Italian Listed); debutante likely all the better for the experience.
Spotlight: Galway sixth a step up on her debut effort but good bit more required here now upped in trip.
Spotlight: Showed inexperience at Galway, not a bad first run in the circumstances; may improve.
Spotlight: Coulsty half-sister to winners Celebrating Ethel (1m1f-1m2f inc AW; RPR 78), Chica Linda (10.4f; 59) and Durham (Polish 1m2f); dam unraced half-sister to 1m1f Group 1 winner Olden Times; probably all the better for this debut experience.
Spotlight: Naas debut run was fair one but took a step backwards at Bellewstown (albeit hampered); upped in trip now and can only be watched.
Spotlight: Always behind on Leopardstown debut in June when a 150-1 shot; easily passed over.
Spotlight: Beaten a long way in bumpers at Tipperary and Limerick last year; can only be watched.
Spotlight: Churchill filly never sighted after slow start on last month's Roscommon debut; can only be watched for now.
Spotlight: Nothing yet in maidens, will be better off in handicaps.
