This is hard and few make huge appeal. There are two last-time C&D winners in here, Driveonwill and FINNIANS ROW with preference given to the latter. Finnians Row's win came from the blue but it was impressive and the blinkers worn that day have been retained. Driveonwill was winning on just his third chase start, but his moderate hurdles form raises concerns about his ability to back it up. Magic Day is another with claims. [Denis Harney] Show less
Spotlight: Gained a first career win when successful in a C&D beginners' chase last time (good to yielding); rated 11lb higher than his hurdles mark following that but claimer reduces that burden; has his chance but overall form suggests following up won't be easy.
Spotlight: C&D victory came from the blue after being pulled up in his previous two starts; blinkers (retained) replaced the visor that day; four-time chase winner is up 7lb, has never won off a mark this high but his win was impressive and he was consistent last term.
Spotlight: Dual hurdles winner last season at Galway and Ballinrobe on goodish ground; creditable efforts in opening two chase runs but tailed off on handicap bow at Navan when last seen in December; may need this return.
Spotlight: Won a Kilbeggan handicap chase (2m4f, good to yielding) in July last year off 87; runner-up on heavy ground at Clonmel and Limerick at 2m/2m2f before a lesser effort back at Limerick last time (2m4f, good to yielding); capable of better.
Spotlight: In and out form this year; good second at Thurles (2m6f, soft) before tailed off at Wexford (2m4f, soft); continued wonderful Tramore course form when easily winning over 2m6f (good to yielding) in April, adding his fifth chase win (four at Tramore); beaten 31l off this mark back at favoured track last time.
Spotlight: 0-10 over hurdles but has gone closest at this track; weakened into sixth of 11 on chasing debut here in September (2m2f, yielding); similar effort back over fences at Tramore last time (2m6f, good); makes handicap chase debut now; others more likely.
Spotlight: Took runner-up spot in only point; won a Kilbeggan mares' handicap hurdle in April last year (2m4f, yielding) off 108; ran poorly on chasing debut at Wexford in October but was better at Tramore back over fences last time when third (2m6f, good to yielding); didn't jump with fluency that day and three horses in front fell at the second last.
Spotlight: Dual hurdles winner for Gordon Elliott in 2023; out of form for former yard but there were positives to take from fourth of 12 at Tramore in April (2m6f, yielding); didn't back that up back over hurdles at Kilbeggan; a bit hard to trust now.
Spotlight: Point winner got off the mark under rules at Ayr (2m1f, heavy) in December when an easy winner over fences off 7lb lower; beaten when unseated at Hexham next time and could only manage sixth at Limerick in December (2m2f, soft to heavy); beaten 30l over hurdles latest; others more likely.
Spotlight: Three-time chase winner went close over hurdles twice over 2m at Thurles in November on different ground; no impression at Leopardstown over Christmas; unseen since pulled up back over fences at Thurles in February; has won following a similar break before but never from a mark this high, albeit rider's claim helps; trainer also runs Magic Day.
Spotlight: Runner-up in sole point; well held in three handicap hurdle runs, including when tailed off at Cork in April; down 4lb for chase bow; others preferred.
Spotlight: Has won over hurdles but is 0-10 over fences; good ground given as a possible excuse when tailed off at Ballinrobe back from an absence; same excuse given when tailed off in a Punchestown handicap last time (2m, good); down 4lb but others preferred.
Spotlight: Point and hurdles winner added a chase success at Kelso off 113 in April last year (2m4f, good); well beaten next time at Cartmel; returned from almost a year off when tailed off at Kilbeggan last time; entitled to improve over that.
Spotlight: 3-20 over fences but no win of any description since November 2023; soundly beaten in a hunter chase here in May (3m5f, good to yielding); others make more appeal.
