With improvement likely from his Downpatrick second place, FLASHY FRED has a top lady rider aboard and can go one better today. Well Bud ran a fine race over C&D on rules debut and is a danger. Super Freak and Cast A Cold Eye need to improve after an absence, but could do so. The latter's stablemate, Village Dream, is the most interesting newcomer. [Tyrone Molloy] Show less
Spotlight: Half-sister to Champion Bumper winner Bambino Fever; was weak in the market when beaten 13l on debut at Ballinrobe last September; likely to do better after an absence and is one for the shortlist.
Spotlight: Beaten 9l on sole point start by a rival that made E100,000 since; ran a cracker on bumper debut at Downpatrick when runner-up to a more experienced rival; can improve for that and a leading lady rider aboard, so a solid chance.
Spotlight: Not a lot of promise when failing to complete in two point starts; however, a different story over C&D on bumper debut when beaten only 11l; the tongue-tie worn then is retained and should have improved since, so is a player.
Spotlight: Sister to 2m5f-3m2f chase winner Village Master, half-sister to four winners including Bun Doran (high-class bumper and 2m-2m4f hurdle/chase) and Shantou Village (smart bumper and 2m4f-2m7f hurdle/chase); a sibling to some smart sorts, but seems the champion trainer's second-string; could still run well; tongue-tie.
Spotlight: Respectable debut effort for former yard when beaten 16l in a Galway bumper nearly a year ago; absence since is a concern, but could run well for a respected local yard.
Spotlight: Second reserve; pulled-up in a Cork maiden hurdle last November but, after a break, was much better in a Tramore bumper despite pulling hard; would have a shout if getting in and settling better
Spotlight: First reserve; 10th foal; half-brother to French 2m1f chase winner My Vega; dam placed French 2m1f hurdles, half-sister to top-class 2m-2m5f hurdle/chase winner Vautour; E20,000 foal is hooded for debut; dam doesn't have a great stud record; still worth a market check if getting in.
Spotlight: Second foal; dam runner-up in 1m3f/1m4f AQPS Flat races and 2m4f hurdle, half-sister to high-class bumper and 2m-2m7f/chase hurdle winner Bacardys; E25,000 foal then made only E16,000 as a 3yo; decent pedigree; tongue-tie for debut; best watched unless market support.
Spotlight: Third foal; half-brother to bumper winner Wilton Mills Trier; dam unraced half-sister to winners Solsbury Hill (2m hurdle/chase) and Reelingintheyears (2m3f hurdle); E5,000 foal was unsold for E4,500 as a 3yo; not a bad pedigree and could be capable of running well.
Spotlight: Beaten 17l and 23l in two bumpers on varying ground conditions; fitted with a hood and tongue-tie today, but best watched for the time being.
Spotlight: Well beaten in the Goffs Defender bumper on debut and not much better in a Limerick maiden hurdle; best watched for the time being.
Spotlight: Ninth foal; half-sister to winners Slainte Mhor (3m chase) and Persian Daughter (2m6f hurdle); dam unraced half-sister to high-class 2m5f-3m6f hurdle/chase winner Ad Hoc; by a useful sire and a decent damline; cost E4,000 as a 3yo; will likely improve from this.
Spotlight: Ninth foal; half-sister to winners Thou Art Peter (1m/1m2f inc HK dirt; RPR 80) and Bungle Inthedesert (1m AW; 73); dam unraced half-sister to useful 1m2f winner Saab Alamanal; Flat-bred filly was a E5,000 vendor buyback as a yearling; stamina concerns, so best watched for future reference.
Spotlight: Half-brother to five winners including the useful Farceur Du Large; started 5/2 favourite and was running respectably on point debut when falling last year; likely best watched unless strong in the market.
Spotlight: Eighth foal; dam placed 2m4f/2m6f hurdles, half-sister to 7f Group 3 winner Marvada (dam of 1m2f Group 2 winner Terebellum), out of French 1m3f winner; dam hasn't a great record at stud; unsold for E1,800 as a 3yo; doesn't make a lot of appeal on debut.
Spotlight: Beaten 23l on debut at Punchestown and will have to improve plenty on that to score.
Spotlight: By a useful sire and from the family of Gold Cup winner Long Run; however, has been pulled-up on both point runs, so isn't easy to fancy; tongue-tie on.
Spotlight: Beaten 18l on sole completed point start and doesn't make much appeal on bumper debut.
