Spotlight: Ex-French 4yo who was second over C&D (soft) in June; shaped considerably better than eighth might suggest in the Old Borough Cup at Haydock 12 days ago, looking second best behind the exciting Aegean Prince for much of the home straight before 1m6f on heavy seemed to stretch his stamina; interesting back at slightly shorter.

Spotlight: Won first two races this year; mixed form since but latest third of 11 over 1m4f on Kempton's Polytrack was creditable; probably acts on good to soft.

Spotlight: All four wins have been on good or slower ground and latest was at Hamilton (1m5f) in July; creditable in-frame efforts twice since (1m2f here first occasion) and this course scorer is capable of having a big say.

Spotlight: 0-10 since winning his first two starts in 2023 but has finished runner-up over 1m3f/1m4f this summer; well-held fifth in Old Borough Cup at Haydock (1m6f, heavy) latest but this is a bit easier.

Spotlight: Pair of soft-ground novice hurdle wins over the winter but tailed off on his return to the Flat at Thirsk (good) in May and off again since; has a point to prove after that but does have a good record on soft/heavy should the ground ease further from the time of writing.

Spotlight: Remote third over hurdles 12 days ago but had been running quite well on the Flat prior to that, including fifth of 13 over 1m2f here (good to soft) in August; his peak RPRs have been achieved over that trip so his stamina isn't assured.

Spotlight: Already a dual winner for current yard, latterly over 1m2f here (good to firm; has also won on heavy) in July; respectable efforts since but hasn't been helping his cause with slow starts (also soon off bridle and detached latest); the much longer trip will allow him more time to catch up if doing something similar this afternoon but his ability to see it out has to be taken on trust.

Spotlight: A fair 1m4f Flat scorer for Hughie Morrison who showed winning hurdling form over the winter for her current yard; stumbled start and always behind on Flat return at Hamilton (1m1f) in June; steps back up significantly in trip now with a first-time tongue-tie also added; needs a betting check for stable which has won the last two runnings of this race.

Spotlight: Went close to snapping long losing run in Queen Mother's Cup at York (1m4f, good) in June; a danger to all if in that form but three lesser runs have followed.

Spotlight: Won a 1m4f Listed race on soft in France in 2024 but has performed well below that level in her three outings for current yard, the latest after 11 months off; entitled to come on for that but Ashnak has to be considered the stable number one.

Spotlight: Made all at Yarmouth (11.5f, soft) in June (final start for Ross Burdon) but has failed to beat a rival in three starts for Iain Jardine; the return to a softer surface may help but could only consider if lively in the betting.
