What are racecards?


Think of a racecard as your guide to today’s racing. You’ll find the times of all of the races at each race course and the runners and riders in each race. And you’ll also get some key information to help you plan your betting. With a racecard you can study the form and make informed selections on which horse or horses to back.  

For each race running today, today’s racecards will tell you:  

  • The colours of the silks the jockeys will wear  
  • The names of each of the horses  
  • The names of the jockeys  
  • The number, colour, age and sex of the horses 
  • The days since the last race for each of the horses  
  • The form in the last six races  
  • How each horse has performed at this course and similar races run over the same distance  
  • The trainers, owners and breeders  


All the information and statistics are provided to give betters the best chance of making informed betting decisions.
