The second running of this well-endowed conditions race and it's a Group-class renewal again. Night In Vegas (second choice) needs little introduction after hitting the jackpot on his last three outings, while Inner City Blues can step forward from his fifth in the Middle Park and Satellite Of Love comes here following his success in a valuable event at Redcar. They can all go well but the vote goes to Gimcrack winner ARAPAHO GOLD, who lost his unbeaten record last time but even that form makes him a leading contender. Speed Of Sound and Oakford should not be dismissed at likely bigger prices.[Richard Russell] Show less
Spotlight: Completed a hat-trick when taking Newbury Listed event (good to firm) in July and he improved again when retaining his unbeaten record in the Group 2 Gimcrack at York (good to soft) the following month; suffered his first reversal when a close third in the Group 2 Mill Reef at Newbury (again 6f, good to firm) four weeks ago, but he stuck to his task that day and this stiff 6f promises to suit; much respected.
Spotlight: York maiden winner on his debut in June who landed three-runner Group 2 July Stakes (6f, good to firm; Adaay Of Scarlett second) just under four weeks later; hung for pressure and proved a little underwhelming when favourite in the Group 1 Middle Park three weeks ago, finishing only fifth of seven, but that came after an 11-week break so maybe he'll be sharper this time; firmly in the picture.
Spotlight: Windsor maiden and Newbury novice winner (both 6f, good to firm) who has been chasing big sales-race pots subsequently; finished second to Night In Vegas at Doncaster (6.5f, good to soft) last month before landing Redcar's Two Year Old Trophy (6f, good) a fortnight ago; he has little to find judged on the latter form and should make his presence felt.
Spotlight: Likeable juvenile who won his first two starts and was then a close fifth in the Group 2 Coventry over C&D in June; solid third in the Group 2 Richmond followed, since which he has been bossing sales races, his three valuable wins from 6f to 7f culminating in a convincing success at Newmarket a fortnight ago; doesn't set the standard this time, but he's not far off it and has developed the winning habit; player.
Spotlight: Yarmouth maiden winner in August who had Satellite Of Love back in fifth when creditable third of 20 in York sales event (again 6f) a fortnight later; improved form next two starts, making all in a Doncaster nursery (6.5f) before beaten less than 2l in the Group 2 Rockfel at Newmarket (7f; faded late) three weeks ago; the drop back to 6f looks interesting and this sole filly isn't one to rule out.
Spotlight: Naas maiden winner (6f, good) in May who was sent off market leader when a close sixth in the Group 2 Coventry over C&D the following month; couldn't justify favouritism in Group races on his next two starts and he was back from a break when last of seven in the Group 1 Middle Park three weeks ago in first-time blinkers; headgear is removed.
Spotlight: Chased home Night In Vegas on debut over C&D (good) in May and he's improved in nurseries on his last two starts, finishing second at Newbury (good to firm) in July before making all to score with authority at Sandown (also 7f, good to soft) seven weeks ago; he's worth a try at a higher level but there's a fair bit of stamina in his pedigree and this drop back to 6f isn't sure to suit.
Spotlight: He has progressed well across his three starts and, following a near miss at Goodwood (soft) in June, he opened his account with a convincing success in maiden at Newbury (also 6f, good) four weeks ago; needs to find a big chunk of improvement in this company but he's unexposed and going the right way; could go well at attractive odds.
Spotlight: He hit a run of seconds in quality juvenile races from late May onwards, including a fine attempt in the Group 2 Coventry at the Royal meeting over C&D in June; that sequence ended when only fifth to Arapaho Gold in York's Group 2 Gimcrack (good to soft) in August and he was again below his peak summer efforts when sixth in the Group 2 Mill Reef at Newbury four weeks ago; has been gelded.
Spotlight: Took a good step forward from his 5f debut in April when back from an extended break to land 6.5f Newbury maiden (good to firm; second, fourth, fifth and sixth have won since) in August; that win was backed up by solid market support, but he didn't handle the sharp rise in grade when dropping right out in 7f Group 1 at Longchamp a fortnight ago; not easy to recommend after that but the drop to 6f might help and it's still early days.
Spotlight: Narrow winner of a Bath novice in July who was unlucky not to finish closer when second in valuable nursery (7f, good to soft) at York's Ebor meeting in August; also performed creditably when third over that C&D (soft) last Friday but even his best form leaves him way down the pecking order.
